Letter: Whidbey Leaders should stress support of Growlers

Editor,

It’s clear we have an agitating minority hard at work to close part or all of NAS Whidbey Island (Aug. 6 story, “Judge rejects parts of Navy’s environmental story of Growlers”). It’s also clear that unless the city governments of Anacortes and Oak Harbor assert their economic interests in court we are going to have problems. We are well past the point of churn in the community – in fact we passed that point ten years ago this month.

The time for bumper stickers, letters to the editors and signs has passed. The time to make clear in court COER and rogue Attorney General Bob Ferguson does not speak for all of us is now.
