To the editor:

I was delighted to read in the Oct. 10 South Whidbey Record of Frank Robinson”s plan to donate 300 feet of shoreline for public use. The property is adjacent to the Mutiny Bay boat ramp and will be ideal for picnics, beach walking and fishing. I urge commissioners and directors of Island County, its parks department, the South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District, and Port of South Whidbey to take cooperative action on this project. Do not let this opportunity slip away.

Island County Commissioners Helen Price Johnson and Angie Homola support accepting this generous gift, which will provide access to the beach for residents and visitors to Whidbey Island. By consistently showing a willingness to facilitate projects that benefit everyone in the community, Helen and Angie have earned my vote.
