Why change the name of the Keystone ferry?

I think the decision to change the name of the Keystone ferry terminal to Coupeville is ridiculous. How much money is it going to cost to change all the maps, all the Web pages, all the schedules, and make and install all new signs?

It is not a ferry to Coupeville, it is a ferry to Whidbey Island. It is called Keystone because of where it lands — like Port Townsend, Mukilteo, Seattle — and changing the name to Coupeville serves only Coupeville. There isn’t even a highway from Keystone to Coupeville.

This possible change should have been discussed openly, but I never heard a word about it, and I’m one of your FROG people.

At a time when there is talk of cutting back services and increasing ferry fares, this is blatant wasteful nonsense.

Stop wasting our time and our money, commissioners.
