To the editor:
A dedicated, talented physician was Dr. Russ Johnson. He served many of us Whidbey Islanders for years. His skill expertise and kindly manner we took for granted.
For myself, he never made me feel I was taking up too much of his time even when my problem was small. Affection and respect are evident when I mention his name to other former patients. We remember the way Dr. Johnson offered healing and reassurance whenever he had the opportunity. He treated us like friends, and that is how many of us thought of him.
So it is, humans make mistakes. When we are fortunate, we don’t make headlines as a result. We make mistakes and we learn something or we don’t.
A good man has died, and I am sad.
God keep you, Dr. Johnson.
