To the editor:
Was Kaylea Souza the only person in the car on Nov. 11 who had been drinking, or were her three passengers also impaired?
Any one of the four young people in the car could have been driving, and if they all four were impaired, then I don’t believe Kaylea should shoulder all of the responsibility of the accident. She’s not blameless, but it sounds as if they all willingly got into the vehicle knowing Kaylea had been drinking and therefore they all share the responsibility of the accident.
Kaylea will live with this tragedy forever, and that is worse than any punishment the law can give her. Surely we don’t just need someone to blame. None of these four should have been in that car, and the responsibility lies with all four occupants.
