Thanks for helping | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

Thank you to our emergency responders!

On Saturday afternoon, May 22, I took a misstep in my garden, fell and dislocated my brand-new five-week-old hip. It most certainly was my own fault. I had become very “cocky” with this new hip and was sure I was Wonder Woman.

The EMTs from Race Road and the paramedics from Whidbey General were wonderful. I was a wreck; terrified, panicky, in a great deal of pain. They were so calm; explaining everything they were going to do before they did it, reassuring me that they were “old hands” at this type of thing. We wish we could remember all your names, and hope you’ll know who you are. I send a huge hug to each one of you.

The doctor, nurses and technicians who were on duty in the ER were outstanding. Again, everything was explained to us before it was done. They continually reassured me that my hip would be alright. They gave us complete and concise written and oral information upon discharge, again answering any questions we had. We wish we knew all your names, too.

Many, many thanks.
