To the editor:

I want to thank those voters who supported my candidacy for mayor. I appreciate your belief in my ability to do the best for Langley.

Thanks also to all the good people who ran for the many local offices. Thank you to Paul Samuelson, Fran Abel and Bob Waterman for their years of service to Langley and South Whidbey. Exercising our civic duty and service to the community are fundamental to a vital community.

I look forward to working with the city council. The city is lucky to have council members who have a wide array of experience and who bring a unique view to the table that will benefit our community.

Together we can work through the issues of growth, environmental concerns and economic sustainability while maintaining a reasonable budget for our small city. I am committed to assuring that Langley is a place where citizens trust their government and believe in the democratic principles we all value.
