Artworks Gallery has a “Mystical March”

Visit Artworks Gallery’s group show, “Mystical March,” which is on display through the rest of the month.

Each gallery artist will exhibit something of their work that reflects the most mystical and magical themes of March. Artwork inspired by the Emerald Isle, St. Patrick‘s Day, the first day of spring or the first golden daffodil of the year will be on display.

Artworks Gallery offers an extended range of fine art gifts including paintings in oil, watercolor, colored pencil, pastel and acrylic, handcrafted jewelry, color and black-and-white photography, fiber arts, metal garden art, pottery, raku and vessel gourd art.

MUSEO gallery shows local artists

MUSEO gallery in downtown Langley features the work of two local artists through April 2. Colin Sulgrove exhibits his new photographs for his first show at the gallery, along with the wood-fired and

porcelain works of ceramic artist Jodi W. Cable.

In winter, the gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday.

Brackenwood Gallery invites the sun

At the Brackenwood Gallery in downtown Langley the sun is shining. Sun is the inspiration for each of the Brackenwood Gallery artists who have created work that in some way celebrates that golden orb for which those in the Northwest frequently yearn.

Raven Rocks Gallery welcomes spring

Raven Rocks Gallery at Greenbank Farm presents “Spring Bouquet” featuring the latest stained glass mosaics by Sandra and Carl Bryant through April 2.

The Bryants are a mosaic-artist team that creates beautiful handmade, high-quality glass and ceramic mosaics for commercial, public and residential spaces.

The artists have just finished a rich new series of mosaic wall art especially for this show in the bold and rich colors of springtime. Working in this vibrant and timeless art form, these pieces are composed of first quality stained glass, creating stunning contemporary mosaic art.

Whidbey Art Gallery features Sue Owen

“Big Sur Coast” is the title of the Whidbey Art Gallery show this month featuring local painter Sue Owen.

Owen’s paintings are inspired by the legendary Big Sur coast of central California. This sparsely populated region between Carmel and San Simeon has long attracted painters, photographers, writers and poets for its extraordinary ecological diversity, where fog-loving coastal Redwoods thrive in deep canyons.

The show runs through March 31 at the gallery on Second Street in downtown Langley.

‘New Images’ shows at UUCWI gallery

An exhibit of  artwork from South Whidbey High School, Bayview School and Langley Middle School students is at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island Gallery of Art through the end of April.

“New Images” reflects not only the talent of those participating, but also meets the challenge to engage their human capacities of imagination, creativity, emotion, conceptualization and complex problem solving.

Rob Schouten Gallery has collage

Rob Schouten Gallery at Greenbank Farm hosts the Annual Spring Juried Exhibition of The Northwest Collage Society. The talented collage-artist members work in a wide variety of styles and expressions, represented in the show by the 45 pieces of art by 28 artists chosen by judge Carla O’Conner for this exhibition.

NWCS marks the 100th anniversary of collage as a fine art.
