Auditions set for KWPA show

KWPA Whidbey Public Radio is holding open auditions on Thursday, March 31 for actors to appear in its all new edition of “Old Time Radio – Live On Stage!”

KWPA Whidbey Public Radio is holding open auditions on Thursday, March 31 for actors to appear in its all new edition of “Old Time Radio – Live On Stage!”

The theme this year is “A Day on the Radio in 1946,” and will also feature a 1946 newscast and a big band show with the top hits of 1946.

Auditions will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. downstairs in the Fireside Room at Coupeville United Methodist Church.

Several men and women between ages 25 and 50 are needed, in addition to an older woman, a teenage boy and a teenage girl. The audition will require the reading of a short excerpt from a script to be used in the show. No experience is necessary, but those selected need to be available for rehearsals throughout April and May.

“Old Time Radio – Live On Stage!” will be performed on Saturday, May 21 in the auditorium at South Whidbey High School, and on Saturday, May 28 at Oak Harbor High School.
