The Port of South Whidbey is looking for talent for its third annual “DockStock 2011 — Music on the Pier,” coming on Aug. 27.

The port harbormaster is looking for local groups interested in being part of the musical line-up. There will be two stages: an acoustic stage at Phil Simon Waterfront Park with music from 1 to 5 p.m. and the main stage at the end of the pier with music to continue to 9 p.m.

The port will pick four acoustic musicians or bands for the afternoon session, and four bands for the main stage evening performance. Sound and lighting will be provided on the main stage. Each group will perform a 45-minute set. Interested musical groups and performers are asked to submit proposals by March 1 at http://www.sonic

DockStock is a dock party to celebrate summer on the water, and includes a crab cook-off competition. Last year the event attracted large crowds, including boaters from across Puget Sound.

This year, event T-shirts printed with the names of each band and the sponsors will be sold to commemorate the annual party.
