The Northwest Language Academy Cultural Center presents “A Taste of India” as its Language of Food Series continues Saturday.

The evening will begin with the flavors and textures of a home-cooked Indian banquet in a traditional setting, followed by performance of classical dances from Eastern and Southern India, semi-classical music from North India and music and dance in the popular Bollywood form. Performers include Vidyalakshmi Vinod of the Nrityalaya School of Dance, Ishanie Choudhury and Arunima Roy of Odissi Dance, and others.

Prior to the main event, from 2 to 5 p.m., Dr. Virender Sodhi and Rekha Sodhi will lead a one-of-a-kind cooking class demonstrating the healing herbs and spices of time-honored Ayurvedic culinary traditions.

Tickets for the dinner, refreshment and performances are $65; the cooking class is $35.
