South Whidbey Historical Society will be recording oral stories of South Whidbey history during Choochokam, July 6-7. Come to the building at Second and Anthes and view the historical photos on the wall and have your story recorded.

“During Choochokam, people are always wanting to share stories they remember about South Whidbey history,” Bob Waterman said. “This year we will be able to record those memories.”

The oral histories collected over the weekend can be used by the historical society to further the goal to gather, preserve and present the history of South Whidbey.

The South Whidbey Historical Museum will be open during the festival at 312 Second Street. Their extensive displays feature items and photos from early settlers’ lives to more recent history.

This project is sponsored by the Langley Main Street Association, in celebration of the Langley Centennial.
