Santa Claus waves from on top of a boat. The big jolly red man arrived to the Lighting of Langley in style on the afternoon of Saturday, Nov. 29. Families sang carols, enjoyed hot cocoa and waited for the special visitor to arrive in time to light up the city’s Christmas trees. The beloved annual tradition takes place in Langley Park. Dressed in an elf hat, Joelle Berry led the caroling with the assistance of her husband, child and voice student, among others. Carolers sang along heartily with the holiday tunes, while a group of youngsters got into the festive spirit by donning Santa hats.
