Whidbey Island Center for the Arts seeks proposals and script suggestions for both its main-stage theater season and its F2D2 (Fast and Furious/ Down and Dirty) series in Zech Hall.

Directors, artists and community members are asked to submit proposals. Playwrights who would like their plays to be considered should submit the following: a one-page synopsis of the play, a 10-page writing sample from the play, the playwright’s resume and a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the return of items submitted.

F2D2 is a new program that supports the evolution of projects and collaborations not possible under the constraints of WICA’s main-stage programming, according to WICA. The program allows adventurous artists and audiences to explore a variety of work, including everyday life and cultural performances, stage adaptations of texts and other materials and avant-garde theater and performance art. Proceeds from all F2D2 performances will fund the lighting and sound equipment needed to finish Zech Hall.

F2D2 is open to all disciplines. The deadline for proposals is Feb. 1.
