The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission, a governor-appointed panel that sets policy for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, voted to set up an all-inclusive annual fishing license at the commission’s August meeting. The news was announced in a news release sent out by the department on Aug. 8.

The “Fish Washington” license will permit anglers to fish in both freshwater and saltwater and allows them to harvest shellfish and seaweed. The all-inclusive license also includes endorsements for fishing with two poles and harvesting Puget Sound Dungeness crab and Columbia River salmon and steelhead. It costs $79.62.

Commissioners also approved a new combination fishing license for Washington anglers aged 70 and older. Similar to the all-inclusive license, it authorizes senior anglers to fish in freshwater and saltwater and to harvest shellfish and seaweed. The senior combination license costs $19.05.
