Ever wanted to see a presidential inauguration? Well, South Whidbey residents could have that chance.

Congressman Rick Larsen is inviting constituents to apply for tickets to attend the 2017 Presidential inauguration in Washington D.C. Those interested should email larsen.tickets@mail.house.gov by 5 p.m. on Nov. 25 with the following information: First and last name, email, phone number, mailing address and number of tickets requested.

“The Presidential inauguration is an unforgettable and historic event and I am thrilled to have an opportunity to share the experience with folks back home in Washington state,” Larsen said. “For folks who cannot attend in person, I invite you to follow along on my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.”

A limited number of tickets will be distributed based on demand and may be allocated through a lottery system, according to a press release. Applicants should expect a response from Larsen’s office in early December. Tickets will permit entry to the inauguration only and not any related receptions or balls. It will not cover expenses, such as travel or lodging.

While some websites and ticket vendors may claim to have tickets to the inauguration, constituents should note that tickets to the inauguration are free and are available through congressional offices only, the press release said.
