Ariel Lyon and Tim Childers of Greenbank were married Aug. 17, 2013, in an outdoor ceremony at Eagle Beach in Juneau, Alaska.

Ariel Lyon and Tim Childers of Greenbank were married Aug. 17, 2013, in an outdoor ceremony at Eagle Beach in Juneau, Alaska.

Childers studied marine electronics and diesel mechanics at University of Oregon and University of Alaska Southeast. He now works as a fisherman in Bristol Bay, Alaska. Childers is the son of Joe Childers of Auke Bay, Alaska and Alice Taff of Juneau, Alaska.

Lyon received her bachelor of arts degree from Cottey College and University of Alaska Southeast. She is now completing a masters degree in teaching. She has also worked as a CNA and Wilderness First Responder. Lyon is the daughter of Rich and Joy Lyon of Juneau, Alaska.

Nancy Long, a friend of both families, officiated the wedding. Gina Mullen served as the maid of honor with Zac Pease as the best man. Maya Pisel was the flower girl.

Lyon has since changed her last name to Childers.

The Childers spent their honeymoon on a boat trip through Southeast Alaska to their new home on Honeymoon Bay in Greenbank.
