Arise Charitable Trust announces grants to women

The Arise Charitable Trust has announced the results of the May 2013 funding session in which educational grants totaling $80,500 were awarded to South Whidbey women, and $36,920 was awarded to charitable nonprofit organizations that assist women.

The Arise Charitable Trust has announced the results of the May 2013 funding session in which educational grants totaling $80,500 were awarded to South Whidbey women, and $36,920 was awarded to charitable nonprofit organizations that assist women.

The grant awards were made by the allocation committee at its May meeting.

Organizational grants were made to:

CADA — Citizen’s Against Domestic Abuse — Crisis and Advocacy Program.

Skagit Valley College — Support the Women in Transition program.

South Whidbey Cooperative Preschool — Parent Educator Support and Scholarships.

Individual scholarships were granted to South Whidbey women for their attendance at college or other accredited learning programs. The following women were recipients: Emmy Atwood, Laura Barrow, Lennox Bishop, Krista Bruning, Hannah Calderwood, Brittany Campbell, Alissa Coupe, Elizabeth Grant, Christina Hall, Tabitha Helland, Sara Hutchinson-Puckett, Angelica Janda, Kimberly Jones, Natasha Kamps, Sophia Larson-Wickman, Jachen Mackner, Rebecca Maher, Kailee Marin, Emily Martin, Theresa Murray, Crystal Ogle, Carly Pate, Laura Persaud, Emily Perkins, Channy Potter, Alexis Price, Michele Rempa, Bronwyn Russell, Trinda Storey, Cassie Thomson, Morgan Tuttle, Jessica VanWetter, Chantal White, Avery Wilson, Anna Wolcott.

Arise also announces the next funding session will be in November 2013. The Arise Charitable Trust was established by an anonymous donor in December 1986 to provide financial assistance to women who wish to meet their full potential in life, but need a helping hand.
