Baby Island-Saratoga Club holds potluck for Ryan’s House

Ryan’s House for Youth will be the highlight of a program to be presented by founder Lori Cavender at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13 at the Baby Island-Saratoga clubhouse.

The Whidbey community is invited for social time and potluck dinner starting at 6 p.m.; bring food to share and a favorite beverage. A donation of $2 is requested for clubhouse maintenance.

Members are asked to come at 5 p.m. for the annual business meeting. Ryan’s House for Youth is a nonprofit organization that is striving to build a home for homeless youths on Whidbey Island. Land has been donated, plans designed and the organization is seeking permits.

Ryan’s House also has a van that travels around the island and is stocked with supplies that are available to homeless youth. Donations of hotel soaps, shampoos, lotions and also blankets or sleeping bags, warm gloves and hats will be accepted at the meeting.
