Beach access group seeks stories

Island Beach Access, a group devoted to securing and informing people of public beach access in Island County, is looking to compile stories of people being kicked off beaches or intimidated.

Island Beach Access, a group devoted to securing and informing people of public beach access in Island County, is looking to compile stories of people being kicked off beaches or intimidated.

Mike McVay, Island Beach Access president, wrote in an email asking for people to send him their stories of being told to leave public beach property or threatened with arrest or vehicle impound. He noted several hot spots for beach access at Glendale, Marissa Lane, Limpet Lane, Double Bluff, Robinson’s Park, Wonn Road, Shore Meadow Road and Ship Haven Lane.
