Call to artists for new gallery

Put down those paintbrushes, chisels, torches and cameras, and make a submission. Local artists looking for the right venue for their work now have the Whidbey Artists Gallery. The cooperative organization will open its new space in Langley in the building that previously housed the Langley Clinic at 114 Second St.

Local artists looking for the right venue for their work now have the Whidbey Artists Gallery. The cooperative organization will open its new space in Langley in the building that previously housed the Langley Clinic at 114 Second St.

The gallery has space for fine wall art, mixed-media, three-dimensional interior and exterior sculpture, garden art, photography, fiber arts, pottery, jewelry, glass and more.

Whidbey Artists Gallery is a cooperative gallery started in 1992. It is owned and operated by its artist members. A jury committee reviews all submissions for membership which guarantees a quality level of work. It also keeps the cooperative from becoming too top-heavy in any given discipline.

Call Pat Brookes 221-8351 or Moe Jerome 360-730-5917 for information on submissions.

The gallery will open May 1.
