The man who robbed Clinton’s Wells Fargo bank last Wednesday, Nov. 28, is still at large, but one suspect has been exonerated of any involvement.

In a news release Monday, Detective Ed Wallace with the Island County Sheriff’s Office said a vehicle in the area was not involved.

“We have identified the Saturn Vue from the Clinton Wells Fargo bank robbery and determined that it was not involved in the crime,” Wallace said.

The apparently unarmed robber’s face was wrapped in a mask and he was wearing a hoodie, but he was identified as a white man about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. An image was released by the Sheriff’s Office and widely circulated but apparently produced no results.

An employee reported seeing a red Saturn Vue, which Wallace’s staff later determined was not involved.

Meanwhile, anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call 321-4400.
