Class to be offered for beginning South Whidbey genealogists

“A Beginner’s Guide to Your Family History” will be presented by members of the Genealogy Society of South Whidbey Island next month. The three-session series will be held at the Bayview Senior Center Tuesdays Jan. 6, 13, and 20. Classes will start at 6:30 p.m. each evening.

The three-session series will be held at the Bayview Senior Center Tuesdays Jan. 6, 13, and 20. Classes will start at 6:30 p.m. each evening.

Participants will be introduced to basic genealogy research principles and strategies needed to find the pieces for their family history puzzle. Focus will be on sources for basic family history documents and where to find them, including the growing number of digital resources.

A registration fee of $15 for Senior Center members and $20 for others will be charged to cover use of the classroom. No charge for materials given during the classes.

Pre-registration by January 2 is required. Call the Senior Center 360-321-1600 to register. Space is limited to 15.
