Clinton meeting focuses on curbing crime

Island County Sheriff Mark Brown and Ron Conlin, Washington state president of Crime Stoppers, will host a meeting this week in Clinton to talk to residents about how a Neighborhood Watch program can be started.

Island County Sheriff Mark Brown and Ron Conlin, Washington state president of Crime Stoppers, will host a meeting this week in Clinton to talk to residents about how a Neighborhood Watch program can be started.

Organizers of the effort say a Neighborhood Watch program is one of the most effective and cost-efficient ways to prevent crime.

The meeting will be held from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30 at Clinton Community Hall. Attendees can RSVP by e-mailing neighborhood
