A community gathering will be held soon to remember the three young men who recently died in a car crash at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30 at Bayview Community Hall.

Individual memorial services have already been held for Charles “Mack” Porter III, Marcel “Mick” Poynter and Robert Knight, and organizers said the upcoming event will be held to celebrate their lives.

“This is not a memorial, they have already been done,” said Poynter’s mother, Georgiann’e Poynter. “This is a Celebration of Life for the boys.”

Friends of the victims are encouraged to bring their favorite photos, write a few words about a best memory and share stories with the families.

“I want the friends of these boys to celebrate their lives,” Poynter said. “I want them to share the stories and memories that they might not have shared at the church services.”
