The Whidbey Island Conservation District is taking pre-orders for its annual native plant sale.

The sale goes through Jan. 30 and boasts an assortment of Western Washington native plants, including trees, shrubs and groundcovers.

The plants are 1- to 2-years old, average in height from 8 to 36 inches, and are bare root. Some varieties are sold as plugs or in 3.5-inch pots. Most plants are sold in bundles of five.

To receive a complete plant list and order form, contact the district by phone, 360-678-4708, or e-mail, sandy@whidbeycd.org.

Organizers say people should order soon because quantities are limited. A list and order form can also be found on the WICD Web site at www.whidbeycd.org. Then, follow the Plant Sale link under WICD Programs.

Pick-up for all confirmed orders is Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Greenbank Farm.
