Lots of “neat stuff” will be available for purchase at a South Whidbey Eagles yard sale this weekend.

The event begins at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 5-6 at  the Eagles Aerie, located one mile south of Freeland on Highway 520.

“If you are looking for furniture, sporting goods, garden items, toys, tools, books or a great selection of household items, this is the place to find them,” wrote Bruce Howard, an Eagles member, in a recent news release.

Since the beginning of the year, members and friends donated enough “neat stuff” to fill a 40-foot container. It’s since been emptied, and sale items at the fundraiser will be displayed on a covered patio and in a large meeting room that offers plenty of open space for browsing.

The Eagles hold fundraising events every year. The largest is the garden sale, and organizers hope the yard sale will generate nearly as much interest.

Proceeds from the fundraisers are donated to non-profit and charity groups.
