South Whidbey marks holy events of the spring season.

Langley Library (221-4383) hosts children April 18 at 11 a.m. Freeland Library (331-7323) has the program April 19 at 10:15 and again April 20 at 6:30 p.m.Community seder at ChinookIn recognition of a week that is holy to several religions, the Whidbey Institute will host a Passover seder and service at Thomas Berry Hall April 19.Though rooted in the Jewish tradition, the Wednesday evening event is open to all. Participants will be able to celebrate Passover not only through devotions and a meal, but with wine, live music, and dancing. Those looking for full participation in the celebration are encouraged to arrive early to help prepare the evening meal.The seder begins at 7 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. Tickets for the event are $25 for adults, $12.50 for those 13-21, and $5 for ages 6-12. Children 5 and under are admitted free. For reservations or more information, call 341-1884.Traditional Passover SederThe Jewish Community of South Whidbey will hold its fourth annual traditional Passover Seder, Thursday, April 20 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland.Preparation will begin at 5 p.m., with service and dinner starting at 6 p.m. Haggadahs will be available. The meal will be potluck with matzos, grape juice, coffee and tea provided. Participants should provide their own place settings: silverware, plates, glasses, cups and napkins. Families are also urged to bring their own candles for the blessing. Trinity Lutheran Church is located at Hwy. 525 and Woodard Road in Freeland. Prizes will be in the eggs. The hunt is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon.This annual event is sponsored by the Clinton Chamber of Commerce. Please park at the park and ride lot behind the Clinton Post Office.Elks offer Easter brunch menuAnyone who likes a good deal on a good meal is invited to the Elks Best All-U-Can-Eat Easter Brunch in town at the Oak Harbor Elks Lodge (sponsored by The Caterers) on Sunday, April 23, from 9 a.m to noon.The general public will pay $8, Elks/spouses $6, children 4-10: $4, and under 4 free.
