This week the Falcons play two league games, last night against Sultan and Thursday at Meridian. Entering the week they were 3-1 in North Cascades competition. The Falcon offense struck early against Sequim. Murphy opened the first with a base hit and she later scored on a hit by Marianna Norby. A base hit by Val Mock scored Norby, putting South Whidbey up 2-0. The lead increased to 3-0 in the second when Murphy singled and eventually scored on a hit by Ashley Lopez. Mock pitched another solid game as she struck out six, walked four and surrendered five hits. The Falcons collected six hits and committed two errors. The errors cost us in the sixth, said coach Renee Christian. Sequim scored twice in that inning but left the bases loaded. Mock shut them down in the seventh to preserve the victory.”
