A smothering Lynnwood Royal defense with poor Falcon shooting stagnated the score at 5-3 until the final two minutes of the first quarter. The game blew wide open in the second quarter when both Ellis and Wick got their shooting arms under them. Ellis punctuated the Falcons’ offensive surge when, with the score at 18-6, she nailed a three-pointer at the midway point of the quarter. The Falcons went to the locker room at the half up by a commanding 32-9.Lynnwood pressed its scoring attack as hard as it could in the third quarter, squeezing out 12 points. But none of the Royals were able to truly come forward on offense. Leading Royal scorer Annalise Nash was only able to pile up a paltry eight points under the withering Falcon defense. With the win, the Falcons moved into the tournament’s championship game Thursday. That game took place after The Record’s early holiday deadline. The team now has an overall record of 6-2.”
