Michael Mercil, South Whidbey High School class of 1995, and Cara Mercil are happy to announce the birth of their first child, a boy, Aiden Joseph, on Jan. 7, 2009, in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Aiden is welcomed by his maternal grandparents, Danielle Campbell-Stice and Ed Stice of Weirton, W.Va. and Robert and Heather Campbell of Long Beach, Calif.; his maternal great-grandparents, Betty Franklin of Langley and Andre Rochon of Montreal, Canada; his paternal grandparents, Bryant and Pam Mercil of Langley; and his paternal great-grandmother, Lillian Mercil of Louisville, Ky.
