“Ferry surcharge ends, Keystone cut back”

Ferry tickets now cost less and one boat has been removed from the Keystone/Port Townsend ferry run as the summer season comes to a close.

The surcharge has been in effect since May 14. A car/driver ticket will cost $4.50 on the Clinton/Mukilteo run rather than the surcharge cost of $6.50, for example.Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 10, the Keystone/Port Townsend route has been reduced to one boat as called for in the ferry system’s late fall schedule.A single boat is scheduled to operate through Feb. 10.Here are the scheduled departure times as of Oct. 10:From Keystone:7 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 1:15 p.m., 2:45 p.m., 4:15 p.m. 5:45 p.m. 7:15 p.m. 8:45 p.m.From Port Townsend: 7:45 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 10:45 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 8 p.m., 9:30 p.m.In other ferry news, beginning Nov. 27, the Mukilteo dock will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays through Fridays, continuing until Feb. 15. However, the regular schedule will be followed Dec. 23-26 for Christmas and Dec. 30-Jan. 1 for New Year’s.During the midday Mukilteo closures, the car ferries will use the Edmonds dock. A special passenger-only ferry will be brought in to take foot passengers between Clinton and Mukilteo. “
