At a special meeting Tuesday night, the commissioners approved contracts with Bellingham-based Northwest Communications to work on the district’s radio towers. One was worth $39,807.65 and the other was $10,284.13.

The district rejected the first bid for needed upgrades because of the price. South Whidbey Fire/EMS staff reevaluated the project’s scope and reduced the project.
