Freeland woman wins $1,000

One woman and three artists in the Langley Deck the Door Contest each received $1,000 on Saturday. A panel of judges picked the three winning artists’ door decorations from about 40 participating shops in the South Whidbey city.

A panel of judges picked the three winning artists’ door decorations from about 40 participating shops in the South Whidbey city.

The prize ceremony was held Saturday, Dec. 20 at Boy and Dog Park on First Street.

The Langley Chamber of Commerce awarded the Holiday Sweepstakes winner, Colleen Skinner of Freeland, a $1,000 cash prize donated by Heritage Bank in Langley. More than 100 people came to the drawing in hopes of holding the winning ticket.

Awards for the best three decorated doors were also presented: Tobey Nelson’s Prima Bistro front door, Larry Woolworth for Museo, and Alisa Lemire-Brooks accepted for the Langley Whale Center.
