Fundraiser for SWHS jazz band, wind ensemble to cover instrument repairs, travel expenses

The spirit of the holiday season is being reflected in the lush colors of poinsettias being sold…

South Whidbey High School Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble students have begun their annual poinsettia sale.

The sale began Sept. 26 and ends Oct. 17. Potted poinsettias are available in red, white and pink ($14). Plants will be delivered Dec. 1-4. The musicians have set an ambitious but achievable goal of selling over 1,000 plants this year, according to a press release.

Proceeds from the fundraiser go toward instrument repairs, scholarships and make it possible for the students to perform at festivals throughout the Northwest and potentially New York and Canada.

To order, call 360-321-4021 or talk with any jazz band or wind ensemble member in the community. Donations will also be accepted and can be sent to SWHS Perf. Arts Boosters, P.O. Box 743, Langley.
