“Martha Furey appears in a performance and visual arts event this weekend at Bayview Studio. Short stories by Martha Furey, excerpts from her new play and an art exhibit of her paintings, all derived from her latest trip to Ireland, will be showcased at Bayview Studio for three nights this weekend in The Eclectic Arts of Martha Furey. The new performance and visual arts event takes place Nov. 17-19 at the facility in the Bayview Cash Store, at Marshview and Bayview roads. Furey’s Celtic connection is strong, and for the past five years she has spent much time in the Cook City area of Ireland. Her paintings and pastels were well received when she exhibited last year. Her short stories come from real Irish day-to-day life on the farm and in the city, while her new play, Mary Queen of Scots, is a witty piece influenced by a stay in Edinburgh. Art viewing begins at 7 p.m. when the doors open, and performance is at 8 each night. Donation is $5; for advance tickets call Furey at 221-2357 or the Art Store at Bayview, 321-8414. There is limited seating. “
