Futures advisory board opens for Island County

The Island County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill three positions on the Conservation Futures Citizens Advisory Board.

The Island County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill three positions on the Conservation Futures Citizens Advisory Board.

Positions being sought currently are for the unincorporated areas of Whidbey coincident with the Oak Harbor School District; a representative living within the Town of Coupeville boundaries; and a representative living within the City of Oak Harbor boundaries. Applicants must reside within the area they are representing.

The CAB reviews and evaluates applications to acquire properties selected open space, wetlands, habitat areas, farm, agricultural, and timber lands for the public use and enjoyment and as one tool for salmon preservation purposes.
