Mayor Fred McCarthy appointed Roger Gage to another term on the city’s planning advisory board.

The five-member board looks at issues of zoning within city limits. Recently the board was tasked with creating ordinances for noise and particularly live, amplified music. It was brought to City Hall’s attention when neighbors of Mo’s Pub and Tavern complained about noise at night.

“We’re getting lots of talent from both ends of the age spectrum,” McCarthy said.

Aaron Simpson, a young mover-and-shaker in South Whidbey politics, was selected as the PAB alternate.

“I can’t think of another person who was as enthusiastic to serve in that role,” said Jeff Arango, Langley’s planning director.

“Aaron brings a great deal of enthusiasm and capacity to learn,” added Councilman Jim Sundberg.
