The Langley City Council unanimously voted Monday to keep Councilman Robert Gilman as the city’s mayor pro-tem.
The mayor pro-tem is the council member who fills in for the mayor when he is away or otherwise unable to fulfill his duties. Gilman was the incumbent mayor pro-tem, and he will serve in the position for another two years.
No other candidates were nominated for the post during the council’s meeting on Jan. 4.
“It was a hard-fought battle,” quipped Councilman Russell Sparkman.
