Goss Lake gets water hydrant

The Goss Lake Park Community Association is celebrating the addition of a new fire hydrant. King Water Company installed it Friday, Oct. 3, on the corner of Pintail Road and Huckleberry Lane, according to Ann Swenson, a neighborhood resident.

King Water Company installed it Friday, Oct. 3, on the corner of Pintail Road and Huckleberry Lane, according to Ann Swenson, a neighborhood resident.

“I am so grateful for this hydrant, for the time it will save the fire department… ,” she wrote, in an email to The Record.

In June, South Whidbey Fire/EMS fought a fire in the community. Firefighters hauled 28,000 gallons of water from a Freeland station, but despite a good effort the building was still lost, Swenson wrote.
