Halloran voted in as Port of South Whidbey board president

The Port of South Whidbey has a new president of the board of commissioners.

The Port of South Whidbey has a new president of the board of commissioners.

Ed Halloran was appointed to the position by unanimous vote at the commissioners’ regularly scheduled monthly meeting last week. He replaces Curt Gordon, who rotated out of the seat at the same meeting.

The board president is responsible for running business and public meetings, is a go-to spokesman and a signator for certain administrative tasks.

Jack Ng was nominated for vice-president.

“I don’t accept that,” said Ng, though he quickly reconsidered following looks from his colleagues. “OK, I accept that.”

The exchange earned a few laughs from those in the audience and the appointment was by unanimous vote.
