The South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District has finished its latest look at its comprehensive plan and will hold a public hearing on the updated document at the board meeting tonight.

The plan covers the years 2011 through 2016, and includes goals such as building a community center, public pool and an indoor-outdoor tennis center by the year 2014. The comp plan suggests that a bond and other funding can be used to pay for a new pool and other projects, but an estimate of the cost is not included in the updated plan.

District officials have been working on the revised plan since January 2010. The plan can be reviewed at www.swparks.org, or is available by email by contacting the parks district at 221-5484.

The parks board will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at park district headquarters, 5475 Maxwelton Road.

Also on the agenda is the draft 2012 budget and next year’s capital improvement plan.
