Hearts and Hammers May workday short of helpers

"The May 6 Hearts & Hammers work day needs about 50 more volunteers, says volunteer coordinator Suzanne Schlicke."

“The May 6 Hearts & Hammers work day is short about 50 volunteers, says volunteer coordinator Suzanne Schlicke. At this point we have more work than volunteers, Schlicke said. Ideally, to meet the needs of the community this year we could use another 50 people or so. We always get a number of latecomers, but it is very important that we know who you are before making team assignments next week. Painters, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, laborers, yard workers, gardeners, kitchen helpers and cooks are all needed. The work day begins at 8 a.m. at the high school commons, and closes at 6 p.m. with a shared meal back at the school. Volunteers must be at least 12. A volunteer form was printed in last Wednesday’s Record; or call 341-5587 or 331-4861 for more information; or email schkeo@whidbey.com.”
