The South Whidbey Lions Club is looking for volunteers to spruce up Freeland Park before the big July 3 Celebrate America event.

Volunteers are needed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 26 to help weed, prune and dress up the planted areas.

Organizers of the clean-up project said a front loader and dump truck will pull out dead bushes from three raised beds around the playground area, but helpers are needed to complete the face lift. Bring gloves, weeding tools, shovels, rakes, a wheelbarrow and enthusiasm.
