A work party to help keep Langley’s lavender stay lovely will be held next week.

Helpers are needed to keep the city’s signature stretch of lavender along the Third and Park walkways looking wonderful. The volunteer effort is from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22. The focus will be on getting the lavender ready for winter. Helpers will weed bends and cut back the plants.

Cary Peterson is working with the city of Langley public works department to organize the work party. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own tools and gloves. Special refreshments will be provided.

The group will meet in Langley at Third and Park.
