A residence on Amble Road near Langley was the setting of two felony investigations during a week in which the homeowners were away.

On May 31, the owner of a motorhome reported that Harold W. Bailey, 43, shot the vehicle three times and then shot at the man’s feet, according to court documents.

Bailey had been looking after the property for the homeowners. He allegedly fired the shots after he told a man and a woman who were living in the motorhome parked on the property that he wanted them gone.

Nobody was injured.

A deputy located three bullet holes in the motorhome, one of which was lodged in the refrigerator inside the vehicle.

Prosecutors charged Bailey in Island County Superior Court June 7 with assault in the second degree and attempted assault in the second degree. He’s being held in jail on $100,000 bail.

A couple apparently moved into the house without permission while Bailey was in jail, court documents indicate.

An owner of the house reported to deputies June 5 that she heard Wayne Martin and Natasha Hamblin were living inside; Martin has a court order barring him from contacting Hamblin, the police report states.

The deputies returned to the property, found Martin and Hamblin showering inside the house and arrested them, the report states.

A judge found probable cause to hold Hamblin on $10,000 bail on suspicion of residential burglary.

Prosecutors charged Martin June 7 with residential burglary and felony violation of a court order. His bail was set at $75,000.
