Input sought for Island County Non-Motorized Trails update

Island County’s 2006 Non-Motorized Trails Plan is being updated, and public works officials want public input.

Specifically, the county is asking for feedback from runners, cyclists, equestrians and anyone else who tours Whidbey and Camano Islands by foot or horseback. The plan prioritizes future projects for outdoor recreation and active transportation.

A series of open houses will be held across Island County. It’s the first round of open houses in this update process, and the meetings will introduce the goals of the plan. The South Whidbey open house is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3.
