Managing the Island County Fairgrounds will be considered and discussed at Tuesday’s Port of South Whidbey commissioners meeting. Port leaders were asked by Island County to consider running the nearly 13-acre property in Langley best known for hosting the annual Whidbey Island Area Fair, formerly the Island County Fair. Commissioners from the port district, charged with economic development, agreed to review the feasibility of managing the aged facilities, which are under the contracted stewardship of the Island County Fair Association until April.
