Island County hopes to fill vacancies on board

Island County is looking to fill three vacancies on the Joint Administration Board, the 19-member body that represents the lodging industry, tourism organizations and elected officials from the county and incorporated cities of Whidbey Island.

Island County is looking to fill three vacancies on the Joint Administration Board, the 19-member body that represents the lodging industry, tourism organizations and elected officials from the county and incorporated cities of Whidbey Island.

There are currently two vacancies: one from the lodging industry in unincorporated South Whidbey and one from the lodging industry in unincorporated North Whidbey. Applicants must reside within the area they are representing.

The board reviews expenditures from the County-Cities/Town Tourism Fund and how such spending may increase tourism. The fund is supported through a 2-percent excise tax on lodging.
