Therese Varney was named “Employee of the Half” by Island Transit for July-December 2010.

The bi-annual award honors an employee chosen by fellow employees.

Island Transit officials said Varney “is always a professional and has the ability to make us smile from the inside out. She is an exceptional dispatcher, and is always willing to help however she can.”

Varney earned praise for handling multiple things at once with ease, and never missing a beat.
